Honda CB1000R XESS
The XESS (eXtreme European Streetfighter Styling) version of the Honda CB1000R draws on the most extreme potential of this new Naked streetfighters intensely aggressive power. It focuses the customers attention on the eventual possibilities for modifying the production model to make it even more stunning.
Our goal with the XESS is to allow CB1000R cutomers to chine out in the crowd (even more!) and give them really breathtaking added value. It is similar to our much-appreciated initiative with the Honda 600 in early 2006. Its clear that Naked customers like to customise their bikes, so we decided to show the seeds of imagination with a reality model.
The Honda CB1000R XESS represents the most radical and extreme styling of the new Italian-designed CB1000R. Just as Honda represents "The Power of Dreams," the CB1000R should be considered "The Model of Dreams" in the Naked category - a dream bike starting with a unique Honda basis and customised with the most impressively designed accessories.
If the CB1000R is spectacularly emotional bike, the velvet-red XESS builds even more on that emotion - aggressive as a panther and ready to holeshot with a premium motorcycle image. Thats why the tank is graced with the new Honda Wing emblem that only decorates top-end models like the RC212V, the Fireblade and the DN-01.
The Honda CB1000R XESS project was carried out by a local workshop in Italy. Vita Cicchetti (General Manager, Honda Italy) proposed the initial concept and positioning, while Fausto Giancristofaro sought out to suppliers of the most passionate parts and coordinated the realisation of the special model.
The many parts that have been added or changed include:
- A special Showa-signed and anodized massive front fork
- Hanabira front discs with radial-mounted front callipers
- Titanium twin exhaust
- Lighter and race-ready footpegs
- Aggressive red transmission chain
- Reversed levers
- Velvet seat
- Several carbon fibre elements (such as the front mudguard, front light cowl, rear hugger, side covers and rear seat cowl).
The concept, drawings and development of the mass production model were established byh R&D headquarters in Roma with the support of the Italian Sales Division. With its already sensational design, it provided an ideal basis from which to develop such an impressive and aggressive prototype. The result is a model that celebrates traditional Honda quality with 100% Italian design.

Honda Classic Modified with Super Wide Tyre
honda cbr250r reviews
honda cbr250r reviews,
engine: The CBR isn’t fast-fast. With 26bhp at the crank it was never going to be furious. Clutch, gearbox and fuelling are of the usual Honda quality, proving cheap doesn’t always mean cheap and nasty. Honda has made big claims about the 250’s fuel consumption, quoting 75mpg from rolling road tests. Doubtful this figure can be replicated on the open road, but if it does 60mpg we won’t complain.
Ride and Handling: Where Honda’s cbr 250r excels is it big-bike looks and pleasing ride quality. Providing you haven’t got giraffe-like legs it has a roomy seating position. Comfort is guaranteed and, all-in, gives the comforting sensations of sitting astride a high-barred 600 rather than a pumped up 125.
Equipment: For £3688 Honda has delivered a bike that is extremely basic but extremely functional. Everything that’s needed to make a modern motorcycle is attached ie catalyser, steering lock, digital dash etc. There is an ABS version but as yet no date has been set for UK shipping if indeed it happens.
Quality and Reliability: Honda has earned a reputation for making solid, reliable products. There’s no reason to think the CBR250R will be any different to the other models in its range even though it is built in Thailand – Honda quality is the same all over the world.
Value: To design a complete new bike, from frame to engine to the info dash, costs money. So how Honda is making money out of the keenly priced CBR is a mystery to us – Kawasaki’s Ninja 250R costs £861 more at £4549 and even Hyosung’s capable GT250R is £3799. Ok, so production costs are lower in Thailand, but a sports-styled Honda for only £3688? Blimey.

Finally Honda Releases the CB 500 X

There is CB 500 X, one of Hondas new 2013 family of 500cc motorcycles. Think of it as the NC700Xs younger and slimmer sibling. This Bike marketed towards the entry-level adventure crowd, the CB500 X is more of a comfortable standard motorcycle with some appealing adventure looks.

The CB500X also gets its power from a parallel twin engine, though 170cc smaller than the NC700Xs (670cc). This 500cc engine is completely new, and features Hondas Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI). The Programmed Fuel Injection (PGM-FI) continuously monitors several variables to ensure the correct fuel mixture is delivered for the existing riding and atmospheric conditions for crisp throttle response throughout a wide variety of riding conditions.

The engine make Four-valve cylinder, the head of valve design uses lightweight rocker-arm valve actuation with shim-type valve adjustment. This bike used engine counterbalancer and 180-degree crankpin reduce engine vibration for superior rider comfort and help reduce engine noise.

The CB500X arriving with a half fairing and a lower, plastic skid plate. Both bikes also share the same suspension, a 41mm fork and Pro Link single shock. The Pro-Link® single-shock rear suspension offers nine-stage spring preload adjustability and 4.7 inches of controlled travel. For handling the braking on the lightweight (430 lbs. without ABS) machine is a single 320mm wave disc squeezed by a twin-piston caliper up front, and a single 240mm wave disc squeezed by a single caliper out back.

Honda release the 2013 CB500X in Matte Black Metallic on both standard and ABS models. The price should be similar to the CBR500R and the CB500F, which both retail for under $6,000.
